Try here:

http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Main_Page for some ideas.

There are lots of skills that heroes don't use well, and they don't manage energy well. So, lots of folks use three necros for the foolproof energy management. Try to progress into the GWEN asuran quest line to get finding the bloodstone, and you will get Livia, the third (and cutest) necro.

Most folks set up one necro for curses, one for death, and one for soul reaping or blood, with a couple of useful skills from the secondary added in.

Most folks also set up an ele as a blindbot/spiker, another as a SF or SH nuker and two monks as a team, one prot one heal, and one hybrid monk or a smite to be used alone in groups. These 8 heroes are the most important and useful IMO, as henchmen approximate some other functions.

It is nice to have a ranger set up as a touch ranger build for certain tasks, as well as one mesmer who concentrates in domination and another in illusion.

Inspiration magic is great for poor hero energy management, so for non necro caster heroes, consider a /Me secondary.

There are tons of great builds for heroes on the wiki above. If you don't find any you like, post here what you want to do, and I'm sure someone will help out.
